Available special needs planning workshops include:
- Life Planning: A Primer for Families With Special Needs Children. This workshop is an introduction to the main planning questions facing special needs families. Topics covered include guardianship, housing, government benefits, qualifying for state services and estate planning, including special needs trusts and letters of intent.
- Government Benefits for Special Needs Families. This workshop is designed to help special needs families reach a greater understanding of some of the different government benefits available. These benefits are discussed in detail in clear, concise language, including how to qualify for, and the differences between, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) and Medicare.
- Working While on Benefits. This workshop goes into detail on how working effects government benefits such as SSI, Medicaid, SNAP, SSDI and Medicare, as well as strategies to mitigate the effects.
- ABLE Accounts. This workshop provides an overview of ABLE Accounts and how they may be used to ensure quality of life for individuals with special needs. Topics covered include eligibility, contributions, what ABLE funds can be spent on, contrasting and comparing ABLE accounts and Special Needs Trusts.
